System for the Irrigation Management On viNeyards in Argentina – a survey of the market

The main aim of the project is to build the business plan for the organisation of the SIMONA system in Argentina, which will be organised for water management optimisation in agriculture (vineyards) will be based on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) system, which will be form by different sensors that are monitoring “life condition for plants” (for example soil moisture and temperature, climatic condition). This WSN system will be designed taking into account the local and regional conditions of the pilot area and the end user’s needs. The project focuses on the San Juan province, Argentina.

The designed system will be an end user support system (DSS) for collecting data to enhance decision-making and will consist of the following technological units: the sensor network itself placed in the pilot agricultural area (WSN), data transmission system, data storage system, and system for visualising the measured data.
